Stump Grinding Services
An often overlooked aspect of tree removal is the disposal of the stump. After a tree has been cut down, the stump can remain for many, many years unless it is properly removed or ground down. There are two main ways a tree stump can be removed from your property, grinding or pulling, and a number of DIY options. All of which have the same intended outcome: remove an unsightly stump from the property, prevent the tree from regrowing or causing potential harm to remaining trees, and help improve the overall health of surrounding trees.
In a majority of cases, we will recommend stump grinding. This is the most efficient method we have as it is quick, simple, and basically grinds the stump into wood chips. There are some special cases where stump grinding is not able to be used and pulling of the stump may be done but this is very rare and not recommended. The final method that is available is taking the DIY approach. This typically involves drilling holes or cutting into the stump and using a chemical to break it down. While this is pretty simple, it can take 6 months or more the break the stump down and ultimately remove it from the property.
Stump Grinding Costs
We are often asked what the cost is to remove or grind a stump. Because you are left with a stump after a tree has been removed, it can be an unattractive look on an otherwise perfect yard and a potential safety hazard. Similar to tree removal, it is difficult to provide an exact cost for just stump grinding. Due to the size, type, and circumference of different stumps we cannot make an estimate without first seeing the stump.
